In my view agentic is the Internet moment in the IT world. It will transform all the industries dramatically. Although there are multiple opinions about how the same will manifest in real world use cases, but in my view it is a leg up to the microservices architceture we have discussing for a while and only a certain percentage could be implemented in practice.
Today most of the banking architecture is hardwired and therefore is not able to provide the CX that is on demand and as-desired for the customer. The same have been simplified by microservices architecture and fintech offerings but still the connections between systems are not flexible and most of the placed who calls whome is also predetermined.
The agentic architceture for a bank will divide the bank into multiple function units that is offereing service to any consumer. In this case the consumer could be any other IT system or a partner or any customer. A very similar concept to branch banking. I
n this "neo" world a customer would ask for multiple services in one go - maybe through a single chat window / conversing with an application. The application would then leveraging LLM provide the right sequence of service like - 1. Close an FD 2. Transfer funds to saving account 3. Open multiple FDs of samller amounts as a sequence of steps while only seeking clarification from the customer, while informing him / her of the associated losses. This would then provide the ultimate decisioning to the customer.
